Sanam Samanian is an international curator, strategist and futurist consultant based in Toronto, developing conceptual stories specific to art, architecture and design. In her practice, she leverages strategic tactics—narratology, juxtaposition, curation, foresighting, and positioning—while collaborating with artists, designers and architects to introduce new thoughts and ideas. Infinitely curious about humanity's impact, she has been academically trained in the fields of Architectural Science, Art, Design and Strategic Innovation. Over the years, she has divided her time between executing independent projects and leading the strategic development of Toronto firms such as Sweeny&Co, HPAPARTISANS, DIALOG and international contemporary artists such as Hoda Zarbaf, Siavash Mazloumipour, Golzar Taravati, Yassi Pishvai, and Hajar Moradi. In 2014, Sanam was appointed as the Executive Director for the fourth instalment of the city-wide Toronto Design Offsite Festival. A regular contributor to international journals, she cites "Intermission" at MacLaren Art Centre (2011), "Soft Souls" at Walnut Contemporary (2015), "Transmutation" at Governors Island Art Fair in New York (2015) and "Evolution" at Canada's Design Exchange Museum (2017) to be her most memorable curation work to-date.
